Virus!

My self-published science-fiction comedy. Available for free PDF download below. Or, if you prefer to support this content, it is available for purchase at Amazon, either in print or as a Kindle e-book.

What if a computer virus could be transferred from machine to man? That provocative — if not downright silly — question is the basis of Virus!, a wild science-fiction comedy in the tradition of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. The Elite Computer Virus Task Force has a problem. Somehow, one of its most experimental — and dangerous — computer viruses has escaped. Battling this software outbreak are the no-nonsense General Piddle, scion of an intergalactically famous beat poet and blimp fetishist; the absent-minded Professor Fassbinder, whose scientific experiments inevitably result in the creation of giant mutants; extraterrestrial shapeshifter and pinochle enthusiast Zev Zyzzyx; and robot prototype Jet, the ultimate personal digital assistant who is a martial arts expert but has problems connecting to a printer....

This comic free-for-all takes our heroes (and villains) from the very depths of outer space all the way to downtown Denver, as they do battle with the Multiple Masters, a race of sophisticated supernatural beings....

“Past and Present Tense”

Stage play produced in a staged reading in November 2009 by the Theater Workshop at the Colonial Little Theatre in Johnstown, NY. It is Christmas Eve, and thirtysomething Daniel Harper is about to become a father for the first time. He hopes the birth of his child will help reunite him and his estranged brother Kevin, their parents’ “golden child,” who abruptly and mysteriously stormed out of their life one Christmas morning 20 years earlier. As both brothers plan to meet again, they each reminisce about the events of the past—and wonder what they mean for the future.
